We are pleased to announce that the 2022 John William Perry AO QC Oration – A celebration for OXI (NO) Day is SOLD OUT! Thank you to all members and friends of HAL who have secured tickets and shown support for the event. Similarly, for those who were unable to secure a ticket, we thank you for your support. We hope to see you at our events in the near future. We would like to thank our sponsor KALYMNOS PASTRIES who is kindly donating the dessert for the oration.

This year’s Oration focuses on a crucial subject, being the “Unification of Greek Communities and its Importance to Maintaining Hellenism in Australia for Future Generations”.
The Oration is to be delivered by Bill Papastergiadis OAM – Melbourne Managing Partner at Moray & Agnew and the President of the Greek Community of Melbourne & Victoria.

HAL is also pleased to announce that the Hellenic Presidential Guard (Evzones) will be attending the 2022 John William Perry AO QC Oration – A celebration for OXI (NO) Day.

This distinguished and culturally significant unit of the Hellenic Army has its origins as an elite infantry and mountain fighting unit established by royal decree on 12 December 1868. With the express consent of the President of Greece, Her Excellency Katerina Sakellaropoulou, the Presidential Guard – pictured below – has been permitted to visit Adelaide and will be joining us at the Oration.

The oration will be a special opportunity to view the Presidential Guard and join them in celebrating Oxi (NO) Day.

We would like to thank the Foundation of Hellenic Studies and the South Australian State Government for facilitating the visit of the Presidential Guard to Adelaide and to the 2022 HAL Oration.

The attendance of the Presidential Guard will also enforce the focus on our crucial Oration subject.
