The Queensland Chapter of the Hellenic Australian Lawyers Association invites you to its presentation of “George Bizos Icon”, the story of a boy who fled from Nazi-occupied Greece to South Africa as a teenager and went on to become a courageous and celebrated human-rights lawyer.
Throughout his career, George Bizos represented many well-known political activists, including Nelson Mandela in the Rivonia Trial in 1964. This 90-minute documentary uses public and never-before-seen archive footage of the man himself, along with interviews with his colleagues and family.
HAL will be screening this new documentary at Five Star Cinemas, Elizabeth Picture Theatre, 175 Elizabeth Street, Brisbane City on Sunday, February 25 at 4.00 pm, which will be followed by a Q&A with George Georgiou, one of the documentary’s producers.
