The South Australian Chapter of the Hellenic Australian Lawyers Association is delighted to host the following continuing professional development seminar: “Recent Developments in Elder Law”.

It will be delivered by Dr Chris Bleby SC, Solicitor General of South Australia and Mr Mark Livesey QC, Bar Chambers.

In view of the ageing population in South Australia, there will be an increased need for legal practitioners to be aware of legal developments relating to the elderly and infirm, and example of which includes the decision of BC v Public Advocate [2018] SASC 193, and the appeal to the Full Court pertaining to the treatment of an individual who suffers from an infirmity, and the rights of such person within a secure residential facility.

It will be held at Wallmans Lawyers Boardroom Level 5, 400 King William Street, Adelaide on Thursday, 16 May 2019, starting at 5:00pm for a 5:15pm start to 6:30pm ( CPD: 1 hour ).

Tickets are $50 for HAL Members; $40 for Students $40; and $80 for Non-Members.
