Any person who supports the purposes of the Association is eligible for membership of the Association.
All applications for membership must be considered by the Committee.

Ordinary Membership
Ordinary members of the Association are persons who:
support the purposes of the Association; and
are admitted to practice law in an Australian jurisdiction.
Associate Members
Associate members of the Association include:
- any members under the age of 15 years;
- any members who are judges or judicial officers;
- any members who are law students, law graduates or paralegals;
- any members who are judges’ associates or other court officials;
- any members who are admitted to practice law in a jurisdiction other than an Australian jurisdiction;
- any members who are patent attorneys; and
- any other category of member as determined by special resolution at a general meeting.
An associate member must not vote but may have other rights as determined by the Committee or by resolution at a general meeting.
