The Honourable Patrick Keane AC, Justice of the High Court of Australia, will deliver the 2017 Clayton Utz Alexander Freeleagus Oration to be held on Friday 1 September 2017.
The title of the Oration is “The Jury on Trial: From Socrates to Modern Times”.
It will be held at the Banco Court of the Supreme Court of Queensland, QEII Courts of Law Complex, 415 George Street, Brisbane. The event commences at 5:30pm and concludes at 8:00pm.
A Tribute to the Late Alexander Christy Freeleagus will be provided by Michael Klug AM.
The Hon Justice Anthe Philippides, Judge of Appeal, Supreme Court of Queensland, will make the Closing Address.
There will be a drinks and canapes reception held in the foyer of level 3 of the Supreme Court after the Oration, featuring entertainment by acclaimed Bouzouki player George Bousias.
